Today’s tour will begin at 8:30. Escape from Hanoi this morning after breakfast, leaving the busy streets of the capital behind and entering the quieter countryside. After around 2.5 hours of driving, reach Hoa Lu. Join the guide for an in-depth exploration of the ruins of Vietnam’s first capital. Learn about the Dinh (968-980) and Le (980-1009) Dynasties and about the history of the site. See ancient tombs and the ruins of the once-imposing Citadel. If feeling fit, there is an option to climb into the limestone karst hills. The half-hour walk is rewarded with spectacular views over Hoa Lu and its surroundings. Return to the vehicle and drive to Tam Coc, crossing through local villages and stunning landscapes. Board a private sampan for a journey through ‘Halong Bay on Land’. Admire the views of enormous limestone karsts jutting out of the green rice fields while the boat cruises along the calm waters. (note: other optional tours can be done in place of the Tam Coc sampan trip. Please see below) After the boat journey, drive back to Hanoi arriving late this afternoon

After breakfast at the hotel, you will be taken by cruise shuttle bus/ private bus to another fascinating land – the gem in the north of Vietnam – Ha-long Bay. The drive takes you through beautiful paddy rice and mountains of the Red River Delta. Visiting the bay, you will experience the magic of the wonderful wonder of the world. From the harbor, board our boat for a cruise among the numerous limestone karst rising from the emerald water. Make a stop en route to visit a grotto of spectacular stalactites and stalagmite. Meals will be served on the cruise. Overnight on the cruise. Note: meals on boat are local food. After breakfast, enjoy your time to sunbathe and relax in the fascinating background of the bay. After brunch on board, you will be transfer back to Hanoi. When you arrival Hanoi, driver will pick up you and transfer you to Hanoi the airport to catch your flight to Da Nang. Welcome on arrival and transfer to your hotel to check in. Have a local breakfast at your hotel. You will be picked up at the hotel in Da Nang. Transfer to Ba Na hills (35km) and take Cable Car which gains 5 world scores to Ba Na hills station. Stop at By Night station to visit Vong Nguyet hills, The Old Villas of French, the Golden bridge… Continue moving up by cable car to the Nui Chua Mountain – the top of Ba Na range, visiting Nghinh Phong top, Le Nim Villas, Orchid Garden… Experience hill climbing train (first and unique funicular in Vietnam) and visit an old French cellar (Debay Ancient Wine Cellar), flower garden Le Jardin D’amour. In the afternoon, you will be free for joining games in Fantasy Park – the third biggest indoor games zone in Vietnam with series of interesting games: 4 – 5D film, skiver, The death race, dinosaur park… (2 hours). Or discover Ba Na hills on your own. 03:00 PM: Back to the cable car, then you will be transferred to Hoi An ancient town. Despite the passing of 200 years and the ravages of weather and war, the centre of Hoi An remains much the same as it was in its heyday. This walking tour is the best way to see the wooden-fronted houses that once belonged to the town’s prosperous merchants, the Japanese-covered Bridge and the wonderful market as well as the many silk, handicrafts, antique shops and galleries.  Explore these sites and many quiet laneways on this insightful excursion. Transfer back to the hotel and and have some rest. Dinner on your own. Overnight at the hotel in Da Nang.

After breakfast, transfer to Da Nang airport for a short flight to Ho Chi Minh – the largest city of Vietnam. Arrive to the airport, pick up and transfer to your hotel downtown by our local guide.

Your guide and driver will pick you up at your hotel. We will drive about 1,5 hours through the pleasant countryside before arriving at Ben Dinh tunnels, Cu Chi. We may stop along the way for refreshments and toilet. Upon arrival, you’ll watch a brief of propaganda video, which explains how the tunnels were used to successfully defeat American military forces in combat. The tour continues and the guide explains some traps that were placed in the jungles of Viet Nam to either maim American soldiers or create panic amongst the ranks. From here, you can enter one of the tunnel entrances and crawl through the tunnels is a real experience to imagine how people could live there for an extended period! There is a shooting range where you can try to fire an automatic or semi-automatic weapons for a fee (this fee is not included). Take some rest at the end for a taste of Củ Chi boiled tapioca and thinking what humans are capable of when having to defend their home. After Cu Chi, we will visit the following places of interest:

• The Reunification Palace: Here on April 30th, 1975 the Vietnam War officially ended when tank number 843 of the North Vietnamese Army crashed through the gates of what was, at the time the residence of the President of the Republic of Vietnam.
• War Remnants Museum: Formerly known as the Museum of American War Crimes, this is a poignant display of the futility of war.
• Notre Dame Cathedral and Old Post Office: Built between 1877 and 1883 this is one of the best examples of classical French colonial architecture.
• Jade Emperor Pagoda: Built in 1909 in honor of the supreme Taoist god, this is one of the most spectacularly atmospheric temples in HCMC, stuffed with statues of phantasmal divinities and grotesque heroes.

We drive back to Ho Chi Minh city and drop you to your hotel.
